The Scandinavian Institute for Studies and Research, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the Kingdom of Sweden, organized the Iraqi–Swedish Scientific Forum in conjunction with Iraq’s National Day celebrations. The event brought together a distinguished group of academics, scholars, and intellectuals from Iraq and Sweden.
The forum witnessed wide participation from Iraqi academics and professionals residing in Sweden, including university professors, physicians, engineers, and writers. The gathering provided a scholarly and cultural platform aimed at strengthening academic dialogue and reinforcing connections between Iraqi expertise abroad and their homeland.
In his remarks, Dr. Mohammed Adnan Mahmoud, Chargé d’Affaires at the Iraqi Embassy, praised the initiative and described it as the first scientific forum organized by the embassy in cooperation with the institute. He noted that the event represents an important step toward organizing a broader scientific conference that will bring together Iraqi competencies in Sweden.
For his part, Dr. Qaisar Hammoud, President of the Scandinavian Institute for Studies and Research, expressed his appreciation for the embassy’s support and emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between Iraqi academic institutions and Iraqi scholars in the diaspora.
The forum featured academic presentations highlighting the contributions of Iraqi professionals in Sweden and their role in promoting a positive image of Iraq within international academic and professional communities.
The event also aimed to emphasize the importance of dialogue and cultural diversity within the European academic and societal context.
